Somatic bodywork shaped around your needs

Sometimes it is difficult to separate physical tension from the demands and stress of daily life. You may notice that you stay tense even when you have time to rest, or that certain positions or kinds of touch are uncomfortable.

Carol offers an individualized approach that takes your physical concerns and your experience of the session into account.

What somatic means here

Somatic work pays attention to how you experience your body. At Sanctus, it can include hands-on connective tissue work combined with other techniques Carol selects for your needs.

The focus is on what you notice, how comfortable you feel, and how the session can be adapted. You do not need to know specialized terminology or choose a named modality in advance.

A conversation before the work begins

Tell Carol what you would like support with and anything that affects your comfort with touch or positioning. You can discuss preferences and boundaries before deciding whether to schedule.

During the session, your feedback matters. You can ask for a pause, a different position, or a change in the approach.

For clients also receiving support for trauma or PTSD

Some clients seek bodywork while receiving care related to trauma or PTSD. A session with Carol offers a separate setting to attend to physical tension and comfort.

Bodywork does not replace mental health care or medical treatment. You do not have to describe a traumatic experience in an initial text; you can simply ask to discuss whether this approach is suitable.

You do not have to choose between labels

Connective tissue work and somatic approaches may be combined within an appointment. The conversation with Carol helps determine the focus, rather than asking you to select from a long list of techniques.
